PetPals
User Interface Project
A new pet care app for owners to easily track their pets's health, book sitters/daycare, and connect with vets and other pet owners instantly. Petpals offers convenient and reliable care for their furry pals.

The Process:
Mind Mapping
All the possible features and ideas to be included in PetPals was brainstormed into a clear map that categorized it into smaller categories. Some possible features included a health tracker, pet supply marketplace, personlaized pet profile, and other general pet services.

Client Research
To gather general information on clients a survey was used including questions such as:
-
How many pets do you own?
-
What kind(s) of pets do you have?
-
How do you keep track of your pet's care?
-
What specific challenges do you face in managing your pet's care?
-
What features would be most useful in a pet care app?

Results
From the client interviews, it was learned that a majority of pet owners own dogs with almost half of the potential users owning a singular pet. More than 35+ interviewees agreed that a pet health tracker to track vaccinations, treatments, and weight would be the most beneficial feature for PetPals.

Low Fidelity Wireframes

Iterations Made
From testing the paper and high-fidelity wireframes some design iterations were made for clearer user understanding:
-
Changing the icons to fit better with the overall design
-
Added the feature of being a worker, a pet owner, or both
-
Added more features such as a marketplace
-
Removed community feature to focus more on the needs of pets
-
More customization
